The goal of our project it to help kids realize, that while they have a lot, there are many more who have very little. They have little when it comes to comfort, food, clothes, in fact everything that a lot of us take for granted.
We're asking that they look into their hearts and give something special this Holiday Season, to someone who is less fortunate. What we'd like to do is collect as many of your kids gently loved Build-a-Bears, that are sitting on shelves and have brought them joy and fun. It's now time to pass along that joy and fun to someone who will cherish their new bear, just as your child has done.
We are working in conjunction with Build-a-Bear and they are helping us repackage all the gently loved bears we collect. They'll be brushed and fluffed and then distributed to homeless children through The Boys & Girls Club of Orange County.
An alternative for your child if they are still getting joy and fun out of their Build-a-Bears, is to have them take their allowance, you can bring them down to Build-a-Bear in Mission Viejo Mall (see events page), have them buy a bear, build a bear and share the bear with someone less fortunate this Holiday Season, through local charity Illumination Foundation.
Remember, sharing just one bear can make a difference.
Hugs,
Ashling
